윤정은 Jung Eun Yoon
Pianist Jung Eun Yoon studied at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, and she moved to the USA at the age of 16 to study with Wha Kyung Byun at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School where she also earned Bachelor of Music. She studied with Professor Matti Raekallio and Choong-Mo Kang at the Juilliard School and earned Master of Music degree. During her studies, she received the Wallace Scholarship, Juilliard Alumni Scholarship, and Bernard P. and Leigh M. Seder Scholarship. In 2020, she completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a full scholarship at Seoul National University with Professor Hie-Yon Choi with research on the 18 Etudes of György Ligeti.
Ms. Yoon won top prizes in Korea including the Korea Times Young Artist Competition. In the USA, she also won the Concord Orchestra, New England Philharmonic Young Artist, Fischoff National Chamber Music, International Chamber Music Ensemble, Oberlin International, and NEC Piano Department Honors Competitions. She performed as a soloist with the Concord Orchestra and New England Philharmonic Orchestra. Her solo performances include recitals at Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Arts Center and Kumho Art Hall. As an active chamber musician, she has appeared at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, InChoon Art Hall at Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, and Ilshin Hall as a member of Ensemble Nova and Trio Liberté.
She has worked closely with composers including Sae-Ahm Kim, Eun-Young Shim and Hyang-sook Song, and performed their new works, and has appeared in new music series such as Studio2021/Academy2021 concerts at Seoul National University, Ilshin Prism series, and Changwon Contemporary Music Festival.
She is currently teaching as a part-time lecturer at Seoul National University, Kyung Hee University, Kookmin University, Yewon School, and Seoul Arts High School, and a member of Ensemble Nova and Trio Liberté.
피아니스트 윤정은은 예원학교를 졸업하고 서울예술고등학교에 재학 중 도미하여 New England Conservatory 예비학교와 학사학위를 장학생으로 취득하고 줄리어드 음악대학 역시 장학금을 수혜하며 석사과정을 졸업하였다. 그리고 서울대학교 음악대학에서 Teaching Assistant로 박사과정(논문: 죄르지 리게티(György Ligeti)《피아노 에튀드-Études pour Piano, 1985-2001》전곡 분석 및 연주법 제안)을 전액 장학금을 받으며 취득하였다.
유년시절 부터 다양한 콩쿨 입상으로 두각을 나타낸 그녀는 소년한국일보콩쿨 금상을 비롯하여 세종음악콩쿨, 음악춘추, 틴에이저, 국민일보-한세대 콩쿨 등 국내 유수의 콩쿨에서 대상과 1위를 차지하였으며, Concord Orchestra, New England Philharmonic Young Artist Competition 1위, Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition 특별상, International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition 1위, Oberlin International Piano Competition 3위, NEC Piano Department Honors Competition 우승 등 미국에서 역시 독주와 실내악 부문 모두 상위 입상하여 가능성을 인정받았다.
다양한 연주활동으로 이른 시기부터 관객과의 만남을 이어온 윤정은은 2001년 금호 영재 콘서트 시리즈 독주회를 시작으로 영산아트홀 젊은이의 음악제, 금호 영아티스트 콘서트 독주회, 삼익악기 후원 독주회 “꿈을 그리다” 등은 물론, 미국 Boswell Hall, Williams Hall, Morse Hall, Paul Hall 등 다수의 독주회를 개최하였으며, New England Philharmonic과 Concord Orchestra와 함께한 각 두 차례 협연과 NEC Honors Competition 우승으로 Schumann Festival에서 초청연주를 갖는 등 솔리스트로서의 음악성을 여실히 보여주었다. 피아노 트리오와 피아노 듀오, 첼로와의 듀오 연주 등 실내악에도 노력을 아끼지 않았던 그녀는 뉴욕 카네기홀의 Weill Recital Hall과 링컨센터의 Alice Tully Hall을 비롯하여 Jordan Hall, Keiter Center 등에서 연주하였으며, NEC Chamber Music Honor Ensemble로 선정되어 Gala Concert를 펼쳤다.
그녀는 2018년 예술의전당 리사이틀홀 귀국 독주회를 시작으로 엘림선데이콘서트 독주회, 리게티 에튀드 제1권 전 곡을 연주하여 서울문화재단의 지원을 받은 세종체임버홀 독주회 등 다수의 솔로 무대를 가졌다. 또한 서울대학교 현대음악 시리즈 Studio2021과 Academy2021 콘서트의 상주앙상블 멤버로 연주하였고, 일신프리즘시리즈 앙상블노바 I, NEC 동문 챔버 음악회, 트리오 리베르떼 창단연주, 롯데문화재단의 MUSIC KEEPS GOING 시리즈 등에서 실내악 무대를 가지며 활발한 연주활동을 전개해 나갔다. 뿐만 아니라 CCMF 창원현대음악제에서 작곡가 김새암, 심은영의 피아노 독주 작품 초연, 서울대학교 리게티 워크샵에서 렉처와 연주를 가지는 등 솔리스트이자 실내악 연주자로서 시대와 장르의 범위를 넓혀 자신만의 음악적 발자취를 남겨가고 있다.
국내에서 최희연, 백혜선, 안소연, 김미경 교수를, 미국에서 변화경 강충모, Matti Raekallio 교수를 사사하고 Seymour Lipkin, Vivian Hornik Weilerstein의 실내악 코칭을 받은 피아니스트 윤정은은 현재 앙상블노바(Ensemble Nova)와 트리오 리베르떼(Trio Liberté) 멤버로 활동 중인 동시에 서울대, 경희대, 국민대, 예원, 서울예고에 출강하며 후학을 양성하고 있다.
